SMALLMOUTH
BASS FISHING AT ITS BEST
Lake
Kabetogama has long been known as one of the best walleye lakes in the
state of Minnesota.....
and for
a good reason. State Fishery officials have often said if they had to
list the definition of a
great walleye structure lake in the Webster
dictionary, they would put Kabetogama in as the gold
standard. Over the
years, fishermen who have fished this lake know that statement is true.
But, in
the midst of all of the talk
about the walleye and northern pike fishery, the smallmouth bass fishing
on Kabetogama is often overlooked. Shhhhh....don't tell anyone this is
one of the best smallmouth
lakes in all of Minnesota. Whether it is a
trip
out on the lake with the kids or that avid bass fisherman
from
Tennessee, guests have discovered that
this species is doing well in Kabetogama and they are
a blast to catch.
And special thanks to Dad (photos #4 & 9) who always figures out just
how and just where to catch
these beautiful fish. And congratulations to guest Kent Keeler of
Marshalltown, IA (photo left and #3) on winning the
2007 Biggest Smallie in the Kabetogama Ash
River Fishing Contest!
